Pre-Halloween

SO, we definitely had to get Lily a costume for Halloween. Jeff really wanted to dress her up as "three peas in a pod"... a little pea pod bunting costume. The one we found was pretty cheesy and I talked him into letting me buy a ladybug costume. Lily is definitely a little small for it but she is absolutely adorable in this little costume.

Every time I see the little boppy thingies that go on her headband I think of Real Genius. There is this scene where Val Kilmer is interviewing for a job with one on his head and this guy says "Why is the toy on your head?" in a really nasally voice. Does anybody know what part I'm talking about? Well, Jeff does because anytime that thing is around I'm quoting that movie and laughing hysterically at myself.

Good stuff. Can't wait for all the candy that Lily will get trick or treating! Score.

The Beginning of Little Lily's Pad

Little Lillian Ava Lowry. This picture was taken when she was only 4 hours old. Lily was born at 11:49 am on Tuesday, September 21st, 2010. She weighed 7.7 lbs and was 20 inches long.

So, I thought I'd try out this blogging business and what better time to start than with the beginning of life. The life of my first child, Lillian Ava. She is practically perfect in every way. She had somewhat of a traumatic birth but has bounced back and is a super strong 5 week old. She was holding her head up on day 2. She has such strong legs and great reflexes. She is absolutely the most beautfiul baby in the world. I love everything about her. Lily has the most beautiful little lips, and she makes the funniest expressions in her sleep. My favorite is "Blue Steel" for all you Zoolander fans out there. I really can't wait to start to see her personality as she gets older and interacts with us more.

Lily does all the textbook newborn stuff: Cries, creates mountains of diapers, and sleeps (thank goodness!).

Motherhood took me by surprise and I am proud to be part of this wild and crazy ride called parenthood. It is nothing and everything I imagined it would be all rolled into one exhausting yet very exciting big pile of fun.

Well, that's a start. I hope to post some fun pics on my blog along with some video clips so that some of my family far away can see their little Lilypad in action.

Lowry out.
